GuruStorms

How does GuruStorms work?

It all starts with a new brainstorm. Any registered user can set up a brainstorm with a simple question, a more detailed explanation of the problem, and a reward ranging from $1000 to $5000 dollars. This reward is what drives GuruStorms: it's the financial incentive that motivates our Gurus to come offer their best ideas.

So how do Gurus earn their rewards?

Great Ideas, Comments, and Votes

Once the brainstorm goes live, an email alert goes out to the select Gurus. They then come to the site to suggest great ideas and to try and earn a share of that reward. 30% of it goes to the first 10 Gurus who post answers, with each getting 3% of the total reward. This helps get brainstorming off to a strong start, and this small reward acts like a stipend or honorarium for these busy Gurus.

Brainstorming then continues for the next 10 days. Gurus return to the site, adding answers, leaving comments, and voting on the ideas that have been suggested. Think of it as a virtual whiteboard that enables online collaboration, dialogue, and even debate with these experts.

10 Days Later: Rewarding the Top Gurus

After 10 days, the questioner closes the brainstorm and decides who are the top 3 Gurus that provided the best ideas. These Gurus then earn a share of the reward: 40% for the top Guru, 20% for the second, and 10% for the third idea. For a $5000 GuruStorm, the top Guru earns $1500, for example.

Of course, the questioner gets the benefit of the entire process, all of it possible because of the unique brainstorming solution that happens only on GuruStorms.
