For over 10 years, David has done things that have never been done before in Social Media and Non Profits. This includes launching the American Cancer Society's first software program, building the first ever user-generated web site for those affected by cancer, and starting their Social Media, Online Giving and Film departments.
David was named one of the "Top 20 Social Media People in the state of Texas" by the Austin American Statesman in 2009. The American Marketing Association awarded him the "Non Profit Social Media Marketer of the Year" in 2009. David also was also a past twice recipient of a American Cancer Society Futuring and Innovations grant.
David has also been responsible for helping start The Frozen Pea Fund to Fight Breast Cancer and is a co-founder of the successful Austin Tweetups: Social Media for Social Good. David is a published author with articles in PRSA Tactics and the new 2010 version of the book People to People Fundraising.
David is currently working on getting his own non profit up and running. It's called Lights. Camera. Help. They help all other non profits focus on good through their film festival, education and the world's first film-focused volunteer program.
David is also very happy to work for Ridgewood : Ingenious Communications where he is the Senior Digital Strategist and consultant to a wide variety of non-profit clients.
